DONATE AND SUPPORT THE CAPE TOWN FIRE FIGHTERS!

Every year our firefighters battle the fires on our mountains, our nature reserves and urban areas, in the Western Cape, but who supports them? WE DO!

How does it Work ?

Public and Business donations are gathered and allocated throughout the year, to support Ambulance staff & Fire Fighters, during the times when they need it the most. These donations provide relief supplies, in the event of disasters and emergencies, but also after their shifts have ended with post traumatic stress related issues.

We provide a year long support system to Rescue workers which are the Ambulance staff and Fire Fighters. These support systems range from mental and emotional training and support to food and relief packages, foods, drinks & products for a relief operations. Packing & sorting those products into parcels with instructions, ready for delivery.

When disaster strikes, we communicate with the Fire and Rescue services on relief supplies. We then organize, transport and deliver to the specified drop off points for the Firefighters & Rescue personnel and to soon the ambulance medical emergency personnel.

Why are we doing this?

After witnessing the devastating fires that gutted Overberg, Table Mountain, Houtbay & Kommetjie areas in 2016, a large group of us wanted to send relief supplies to the volunteers and firefighters who worked so hard to stop it, so we did. We went out and bought supplies ourselves and dropped it off at the designated drop off points.

Then with the Knysna fires which devastated the majority of that beautiful wilderness area in 2017, we wanted to help again, so we did. Our 2018 fire season we saw less fires than in previous years but we still did the same thing. We went out and bought some supplies and went to deliver it to the drop off points, to help support the people who put their lives on the line to keep us safe.

So… with the 2019 fire season on our doorstep, a group of people, and businesses came together, to start this fund, and be prepared to help the brave firefighters… men and women who selflessly put their lives on the line to try and stop the fires. We do this with a passion so that the firefighters and volunteers don’t have to worry about a thing, and just focus on doing their job correctly, knowing that we are there when they come back… exhausted to some food, drinks and supplies.

We will use the donations gathered by this fund to help them in their hour of need, just like they help us, in ours! This fund is there to be a relief supplies providing support system for all firefighters, volunteers and soon also ambulance emergency personnel. We will drive as far as it takes to ensure that we deliver.

We have communicated what we want to do with Mr Theo Lane, Head and Spokesperson of the City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue Service, Mr Edward Bosch, Divisional Commander of the City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue Service & Mr Wayne Chadow from the Fire and Rescue Service. They will communicate with us where and when they need relief supplies which we will then deliver.
