Operational goals
This is the communication between us and CTC Fire & Rescue services nerve centre in Goodwood.
- Short Term goal – Immediate response
- Communicate with CCT Fire & Rescue services on a daily occurrence, understanding if where they are working, and if they need our help. This will still be done by us using our spare time or making time.
- Establishing a network between us and CCTFRS to ensure that they know they can call on us at any time for help. Need to appoint a full-time staff member capable of managing all aspects.
- Build a website where all communication to the public and radio stations takes place, for up to date info on everything
- Keeping the social media channels open and communicating.
- Next year goal
Improving on the current communication and relationship we have with CCTFRS
- Long term goal – By year 2
Establishing a permanent operator at the CCTFRS nerve centre where we have direct communication on what is happening, to allow us to become the main public point of information.
Stock goals
For now, we are still buying impulsively if we need to react, but we’ll need to establish longer term relationships with suppliers, and eventually have our own stock warehouse, where we can react faster.
- Short Term goal – Immediate response
Email Giants Hyper, place order, follow up to notify them of the order to be packed immediately as an emergency, to be picked up.
- Next year goal
Warehouse / storage facility for Stock piling good for faster reaction time and re stocking.
- Long term goal – By year 2
Permanent warehouse (which will also server as our office) with stock of all sorts of products, foods and drinks.
Transportation goals
We are currently using our own vehicles for transportation purposes, or sometimes we ask a friend to use their bakkie for a larger delivery.
- Short Term goal – Immediate response
Using our own vehicles for the time being. Ask a friend to borrow their bakkie / vehicle if we need more space, or getting a sponsored vehicle (bakkie) for the 5 months of fire season would be great.
- Next year goal
Approach Toyota Barloworld or VW Barons and ask for a sponsored vehicle for the 5 months of fire season (December to April). We don’t need it outside of the fire season.
- Long term goal – By year 2
Be able to purchase and pay off our own working vehicle for transportation of good and general logistics.
