What does FRF do?
We are a group of people who care about the men and women who are our fire fighters, and rescue services in the Western Cape. Those men and women that we call on, when a rescue needs to be done in the mountains or when those mountains are burning, sometimes for weeks on end.
It is those men and women that would sometimes work tirelessly for over 14 hours, many times even more, whom need help and support in the form of food, drinks, snacks and the messages from the public on how their work and efforts are being appreciated.
This support system & communication system is currently lacking, and the FRF want to fill that void.
Our Mission:
- Supplying relief items to the firefighters & rescue services staff if / when they need it.
- Be an information board between the public and the City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Service (CTFRS)
How does this work?
- Supplying relief items to the firefighters & rescue services staff if / when they need it.
If / when a disaster event happens (like the yearly fires we see in our area), then we will be the main contact point for the public and big businesses to pass on goods in the forms of food, drinks, snacks and relief items.
We will collect all these goods, transport and deliver them to the areas and locations determined by the fire chief in charge of those operations.
Our focus will be on social media and the radio stations who are the main communication points engaging with the public on these matters.
This service will also alleviate the constant bombardment that the City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Service (CTFRS) currently suffer from… from radio stations, news outlets and the public on how and where these relief items can be dropped.
- Be a information board between the public and the City of Cape Towns Fire and Rescue Service (CTFRS)
Currently there are very little information sharing from the City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue services to the public, and Visa Versa. The only we actually do hear from them, is when there is an actual event happening and a radio station might get mr. Theo Lane to talk to them and explain the current situation, and he would then explain what and where donations of food parcels and relief drinks can be delivered. By this time many times, it’s too late.
We want to become that information billboard which is constantly there as a connection between them and the public that fills that role, so that when a event happens, then the information that the public gets from us is immediate and always correct.
What do we need?
- Food Products suppliers – PNP, Giants or Makro, where we can buy the products we need from them at cost price, agreement
- Business financial agreements /
- Public donations
- Vehicle Sponsorship
